Commissioner Kerr: Commissioner Kerr began by discussing significant changes to the Rocky Flats Stewardship Council. He announced that 6 out of the 10 local governments have voted to withdraw from the Council, which will result in its dissolution. However, one final meeting will be held before the Council officially disbands. Commissioner Kerr emphasized his commitment to ensuring that a platform remains for the dissemination of important information regarding Rocky Flats. He noted that Arvada is actively exploring the creation of a new multijurisdictional entity to maintain transparency and ongoing discussions related to the area. In addition, Commissioner Kerr shared details of a recent meeting with representatives from the cities of Denver, Morrison, and Golden, as well as Open Space and Road and Bridge departments. The group is working to pilot a new transit program to provide improved transportation to Red Rocks and other open space areas, with the goal of launching the initiative next year. Commissioner Kerr also highlighted the upcoming Evergreen Chamber meeting on Wednesday, September 18. On a personal note, he shared his enjoyment of Labor Day festivities held in his neighborhood and expressed gratitude to those who contributed to the holiday. He concluded by acknowledging the significance of Labor Day and the labor laws established over a century ago, wishing everyone continued celebration.

Commissioner Dahlkemper:  Commissioner Dahlkemper began by saying that Jeffco Public Schools is actively re-imagining high school education through collaboration with students, families, and the broader community. Special thanks were extended to Superintendent Dorland and the school board members for joining local leaders, including Mayors, County Commissioners, City Managers, and our County Manager, at the recent quarterly meeting. Commissioner Dahlkemper also expressed appreciation to Chris Lynn, Director of the Senior Resource Center, for addressing the pressing needs of our aging population. In the homelessness update, Commissioner Dahlkemper thanked the Human Services Team for their continued efforts in addressing this challenge. She also emphasized the importance of small businesses, noting that they are the backbone of thriving communities. She enjoyed the opportunity to speak at the Evergreen Chamber breakfast, discussing county issues such as the Together Jeffco initiative, which focuses on responsible growth while considering fire risks, water availability, transportation, and other issues facing mountain communities. Commissioner Dahlkemper also expressed her enthusiasm for the upcoming Leadership Evergreen meeting on Thursday, September 12. Commissioner Dahlkemper concluded by acknowledging the work of Triad Bright Futures, which serves Jefferson, Gilpin, and Clear Creek counties. As a final note, The Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation line is available for families and childcare providers who may have concerns about a child's behavior, relationships, or feelings of burnout. The hotline can be reached at 833-326-4411 for support.

County Manager: County Manager Kerby wanted to remind the community of Jefferson County's Annual Employee Excellence Awards this Thursday, September 12, from 2-4pm. He is looking forward to recognizing all the accomplishments of Jefferson County's staff.
