The group is working to pilot a new transit program to provide improved transportation to Red Rocks and other open space areas, with the goal of launching the initiative next year. Commissioner Dahlkemper: Commissioner Dahlkemper began by saying that Jeffco Public Schools is actively re-imagining high school education through collaboration with students, families, and the broader community. Special thanks were extended to Superintendent Dorland and the school board members for joining local leaders, including Mayors, County Commissioners, City Managers, and our County Manager, at the recent quarterly meeting. Commissioner Dahlkemper also expressed appreciation to Chris Lynn, Director of the Senior Resource Center, for addressing the pressing needs of our aging population. In the homelessness update, Commissioner Dahlkemper thanked the Human Services Team for their continued efforts in addressing this challenge. She also emphasized the importance of small businesses, noting that they are the backbone of thriving communities. She enjoyed the opportunity to speak at the Evergreen Chamber breakfast, discussing county issues such as the Together Jeffco initiative, which focuses on responsible growth while considering fire risks, water availability, transportation, and other issues facing mountain communities.
