Commissioner Kerr called the meeting to order.

The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Commissioner Kerr asked for a moment of silence for K-9 Graffit a peace officer who died in the line of service.

Commissioner Kraft-Tharp: Commissioner Kraft-Tharp wanted to state on the record that she has communicated her opinion on the house bill that had been mentioned during public comment, there has also been an email as well as it has been discussed in a public meeting with the legislative team. Commissioner Kraft-Tharp talked about how the Jeffco League of Women Voters will be having a forum on February 28, 2023, from 6:00pm - 7:30pm. People can register, they will be talking about the unhoused homeless population in the county and what's being provided, there will be about six different panelist that will be speaking, and Commissioner Kraft-Tharp will be one of them. Commissioner Kraft-Tharp talked about how she will be having a town meeting via Zoom this Saturday, March 4, 2023, from 9:00am-10:30am with Westminster City Councilor Sarah Nurmela and Arvada City Councilor Lauren Simpson. Commissioner Kraft Tharp stated they will be talking about utilities, there will be different people to speak about Xcel, Google Fiber, and water rates. Commissioner Kraft-Tharp invited everyone to join the meeting this Saturday.

Commissioner Dahlkemper: No reports.

Commissioner Kerr: Commissioner Kerr was very pleased to take part in a public form, basically telephone town hall but was also on WebEx and telephone town hall with a couple hundred neighbors around the Colorado School of Mines. The Group that put it together was the Colorado Summit, they are semiprofessional/ professional disk team, that had their first year playing in Colorado last year. Commissioner Kerr stated how all the players are Colorado residents and one of their star players is a resident of Golden, their plan is to make the Colorado School of Mines Stadium be their stadium to play and perform in this summer. The Colorado Summit team asked the neighbors for feedback and opinions, and they received good feedback. Commissioner Kerr thanked them for considering Jefferson County to move a professional sports team and are very willing to take offers from other professional sports teams’ headquarters who might also want to move to Jefferson County in the future.  Commissioner Kerr also thanked the ownership group including former Representative and former Commissioner Sal Pace for helping organize the event. Lastly Commissioner Kerr talked about how the Sheriffs lost a member of their department, K-9 Graffit whose services were on February 27, 2023, his first watch was on August 24, 2015 and his end of watch was on February 13, 2023. Commissioner Kerr had the opportunity to meet K-9 Graffit’s handler Deputy Oliver and his family. The services are available online to watch.

County Manager: County Manager stated Human Services hosted a virtual leadership summit for staff which was very well attended and went smoothly, handouts are available for all staff online or directly from Human Resources.

County Attorney: No reports.

There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was adjourned.
