Commissioner Kraft-Tharp: Commissioner Kraft-Tharp began by speaking about the sheriff's appreciation day, where she scooped ice cream with a brand new Commander, and commented on how impressed she was with him. She also wished to thank Jeffco first responders for quickly and efficiently taking care of the fire off of 285. Commissioner Kraft-Tharp also congratulated airport services and the U.S. Forest Service for their air-support assistance with the fire in Loveland.

Commissioner Dahlkemper: Commissioner Dahlkemper wished to give a huge shoutout to Jeffco Sheriff's Office, are fire rescue districts, and other first responders who were on the ground and in the air tackling the 6-acre Twin Forks blaze on Sunday afternoon. They quickly had the fire under control thanks to the swift response. She encouraged the public to follow Jefferson County Sherriff's Office on Twitter and Facebook for up-to-the-minute information on fires and other natural disaster alerts. Commissioner Dahlkemper also thanked the Jefferson County Public Library for its support and to our Conifer community members who advocated for a new library. Visit jeffcolibrary.org for more information. She also congratulated the Jefferson County Public Library for securing grants and reimbursements to fund electric vehicle charging stations, including Belmar Library and Evergreen Library, with additional locations planned. Commissioner Dahlkemper concluded with notice of upcoming town halls. First, the virtual town hall on Wednesday, July 31, from 6 to 7pm, with discussion on wildfire, budget, and community questions. Lastly, the Foothills Town Hall is on Aug 3 at Evergreen Fire Rescue in Bergen Park, with a focus on the increasing cost of homeowners insurance, especially in fire-risk communities.

Commissioner Kerr: Commissioner Kerr began by thanking the Sheriff's Department for inviting him to their employee appreciation event. Last Thursday, July 25, he was able to attend several positive events for small businesses in Lakewood, including the 20th anniversary celebration of African Grill and Bar. He also attended the Lakewood Business Association's event at Ballmer Peak Distillery's new location off of Sheridan and Alameda. With support from Alameda Connects and the Lakewood Reinvestment Authority, Ballmer Peak Distillery has been able to open a second tasting room, where Commissioner Kerr participated in a soft open. During the event, he spoke with the owners of Old 121 Brewhouse who were also holding events, Christmas in July and Spay Today, on Saturday, July 27. Commissioner Kerr also informed the public that Jeffco IT will be taking part in a tech showcase tomorrow, July 31. This showcase will give employees an opportunity to look at and reward the work that our technology employees do. Commissioner Kerr thanked first responders' ongoing efforts fighting wildfires and finished his reports by reminding the public of the virtual town hall meeting tomorrow, July 31, at 6pm.
